Completed Project

Step 1: Paper outline

  • This step is crucial, at least to me. It allows me to sort out my thoughts and goals of the project. It also helps narrow in on the questions you want to answer throughout the paper. The full outline is linked here!

Step 2: Compile the resources

  • I spent longer gathering my research and understanding it than it took to write the actual research paper! Resources included the transcripts from Mr. Dues and Mr. Grindo’s cases, the rules of professional conduct, the ABA website to understand specific rules, and ethics databases both for philosophical explanations and legal interpretations.

Step 3: Write the paper

  • 6 months after creating the outline, 5 months after starting my research, and 2 months into my spring semester as a senior, I have a completed research paper, including 20 independent sources, 32 pages, 9,366 words, and over 50,000 characters.
