The student newspaper of St. Olaf College. If you’re looking for recent news, check out our official website. The Messenger is entirely student run and produced. We print weekly, producing 20 issues over the course of one academic year – 10 issues during the fall semester and 10 in the spring. What is The Edit Desk?

The Edit Desk is a resource for student journalists at St. Olaf College, created by students for students. We drew from our own experiences at the Messenger and talked to experienced editors and journalists across the country to put together a “how to” guide and a Messenger Handbook. This site is by no means complete – we’re always updating and adding information as we figure out what works for our campus and as the journalism industry continues to change. The information provided on this site is tailored specifically for reporting about St. Olaf events and topics and to be understood by St. Olaf students.
