Synodical Affiliations of Norwegian-American Congregations in 1900:
Goodhue, Rice, and Otter Tail Counties.
Norlie provides a map of congregations in Minnesota using symbols to indicate their synodical affiliations.
We began hoping to use Norlie’s data to reproduce his map and to add layers displaying changes in affiliation. These maps show congregations’ affiliations in 1900, after formation of the United Church and the Lutheran Free Church, but before the 1917 organization of the Norwegian Lutheran Church in America. Pop-up labels include page numbers in Norsk lutherske menighter.
