Work Experience

Friends of the Parks, Chicago, IL 

      I worked with the Office Manager on planning, organizing, and executing the Earth Day 2018 event, which took place in over 100 parks in Chicago. Moreover, I supported and assisted the Director of Environmental Education and Neighborhood Parks and Deputy Director with administrative tasks and programming of events and community meetings. 

 

Center for Multicultural and International Engagement, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

      In the role of Project Assistant, I organized cultural-education events on campus for students. In the organization, I have taken many roles including poster designer, PR person, financial manager, and marketing coordinator. In this role, I learned how to better time and people management skills, alongside emergent leadership.

World Languages Center, St Olaf College, Northfield,MN

 During the rime and WLC, I have worked with teachers and students in order to make their experience with technology easier. As student workers, we had the training to the main educational platforms, as well as editing tools. These helped us in the assistance to the educators and students when they needed it most.

Besides this, I had the opportunity to teach Italian courses to students who were preparing to study abroad in Italy. The work included course preparation, lesson plan, teaching, and discussion sessions. 

 

Student Ambassador, Admissions Office, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

 While being a student ambassador, I had the opportunity to represent the college in the best of ways: I engaged with the perspective students and their families while incorporating academic, historical, and co-curricular information in the tours. By working at the Admissions Office, I had the chance to learn how to behave in a professional setting and engage with the staff. By using Slate, I engaged in the tasks of planning the visits and helping the families with any question had they call the college. 

Intern at Yorth Group, Minneapolis, MN

 With Yorth Group, I am working on a cutting-edge circular economy feasibility study that the company is commencing with the city of Minneapolis. Specifically, this project will assess for and determine the technical and financial feasibility of integrated infrastructure systems when coupled with circular economic development strategies. The project is exploring environmental, social, and economic outcomes from these transformative infrastructure systems and compares with the current model.

CURI Research Assistant, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

During the summer of 2019, I was excited to research the question of entrepreneurial education under the supervision of Sian Christie. We explored the question of entrepreneurial skills and how those can enhance experiential education, especially study abroad, by infusing the most important skills into the learning processes. Some of the most important takeaways were that some pedagogical approaches can enhance students’ entrepreneurial learning and increases their chance to be successful in the future.

LEADERSHIP AND CO-CURRICULAR EXPERIENCE

International Student Counselor, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

Takeaways: develop leadership skills by supporting international students in their transition to life on campus; mentoring a group of 10 international students throughout their first year; incorporate and develop cross-cultural communication skills.

 

Hult Prize Campus Director,  St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

     Started the chapter of Hult Prize International on campus. Recruited and mentored the successful progress of St Olaf teams. Advised and promoted the team that got to the global semi-finals of the 2019 Challenge. 

 

Senior Keynote Speaker at Davis Scholars Dinner 2019, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

After three years in leadership roles for international students, I had the opportunity to be the senior speaker for the Davis Scholars dinner, 2019. In the speech, I reflected on my experience at St. Olaf and gave some advice and takeaways to underclassmen.

Veselica Dance Ensemble Member, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN 

 During the three years in Veselica, I had the chance to choreograph two dances, as well as lead my group in several rehearsals, when the director would be absent. 

Italian Language Tutor, World Languages Center, St Olaf College, Northfield, MN

Planning sessions and teaching language lessons gave me the chance to discover myself in the education sphere. I loved the experience and learned how to plan better and create content with the progress of the students.
