My senior integrative project titled “Muslim Women’s Mental Health Care: Barriers to Care” focused on barriers Black American Muslim women face when providing and/or seeking mental health care.
Throughout this project, I was able to learn and explore Islamic psychotherapy and Muslim mental health in the American Muslim community.
I was able to interview a range of Black Muslim women mental health professionals here in MN and ask them about how we can improve mental health for Black Muslims women and the broader American Muslim community.
