I am most interested in seeing any of the ruins we have been reading about in person when I arrive at the site, especially the floor mosaics. As an Art History major, I am particularly interested in visual history, and I’ve always found mosaics fascinating! I am also looking forward to searching for visual elements we’ve read about in the ruins, like the Antiochian Eagle.
I’m interested in learning more about archaeological methods and learning how to record and interpret any finds. As someone who is interested in the history field, I’m curious to learn about fieldwork and research. The process seems mystical to me right now and I’m excited to learn all the details and fill the gaps in my understanding.
Before the dig starts, I’d really like to get acquainted with the town and visit the beach. I am looking forward to exploring a new area!
