Two places that really caught my attention in the readings are the colonnades and the great bath. At the time of Hoff’s writing, he mentioned that the colonnades were being restored, and seeing a free-standing column would be really cool (though I’m not sure if they were ever able to get it up). I realized that in every photo I’ve seen of Greek and Roman ruins, the columns are either crumbled or knocked over, so that could give some semblance of what it would look like to actually walk around in an ancient city. And of course I’m excited to see the mosaic in the great bath, I’ve seen pictures of it but I’m sure its far more impressive in person.

I really want to see the seaside cliffs. The highest cliff I’ve ever been on is probably about 30 feet over a lake, so cliffs being hundreds of meters over the sea will blow that out of the water.
