What is surprising and unexpected to me is just how hot it is in turkey, and how much archeological things we have found in the ground. The things we found were interesting and cool.
Speaking of cool, it is very very hot here, way different than Northfield Minnesota, the love of my life, and home. Like Minnesota, I long for winter. The sharp air whipping through me to the bone, the air freezing my beard, and the savory taste of snow. For now though, I’ll rejoice in the honor of being in Turkey and on site.
Though I’ve been in Athens (hell) for the last week, I triumphed over the challenge and am ready to go from a mental to physical break. As I now have my visa, and am in Turkey, I am excited to try new food (various meats and grains). Just yesterday I ate a wonderful fish, and had the best of rice that life has to offer.
I look forward to trying cold drinks.
