I am so excited to arrive in Antiochia! Something that will be really interesting to see is the Great Bath. Architecturally speaking, I think a lot of things during this time were very advanced. The people building these things were very advanced. The mosaic will be very interesting to see as well. I am also looking forward to seeing Structure II of the Acropolis, appearing to be a Christian church. I think it’s really cool that this region of the world does have some Christian roots going back to after Jesus’ time and with the new spread of Christianity.
Something I would like to do in Gazipaşa before the dig starts is to poke around. I have never been out of America before so exploring a new place will be fun and a great experience! I really want to see the sparkly blue water and ruins.
