Week four has seen some frustrating days up at the North East Temple.  As our time here draws to a close and our trench grows ever deeper, we are looking for bedrock.  We are hoping to find the bedrock; however the soil at the Temple is very hard and compact.  It is a mixture of very fine grained clay and silt mixed together with cobbles and pieces of bedrock.  These pieces sometimes make us think that we have hit bedrock, only to realize that we have not.  This process has been a little frustrating, but we continue on knowing that bedrock is close and the closing of our trench is hopefully within sight.

This week hasn’t entirely been a quest for bedrock, we have found some interesting things.  Along with lots of pottery sherds, we have found nails and other awesome artifacts.  We are hoping that we will be able to estimate a time for when our little room was constructed and how it relates to the temple.
