I can’t believe that it’s the end of week three already! It was certainly an exciting week up at the Temple. We continue to make progress on the north trench, dividing it into many different sections as we continue to work on it. We have found some interesting things, and continue to find pottery sherds and lots of roof tiles. We still don’t know what purpose of this area was but we continue to work hard and hope to understand more about it. We have also found a lot of bedrock! This makes the enigma of our trench even more interesting because of the shape and depth of the bedrock in the trench and makes us wonder even more as to the purpose of this area and the walls that surround it. Archaeology really is the only time you are hoping to hit rock bottom!
