The Quarry is an undergraduate literary and fine arts magazine that features artistic and interdisciplinary creative work by the students of St. Olaf College.
Founded in 1923, The Quarry is one of St. Olaf’s oldest student-run publications. We provide a platform for undergraduate publication and strive to make art and creativity accessible to everyone and push the borders of what our community defines as art.
Every spring, The Quarry publishes a full-color magazine featuring student creative works of all mediums. In addition to our publications, we support art and community through events and workshops on campus.
SUBMIT NOW!
submissions open until october 27th
The Quarry is seeking submissions of all types of creative work. This includes but is not limited to poetry, short stories, 2D artwork, 3D artwork, music composition, theater, and dance performance.
Started in 2020, the Quarry’s Amplify Zine is a series highlighting underrepresented student voices on campus. We are excited to announce that our fall Amplify Zine this year will celebrate the work of multilingual artists.
We are looking for submissions in all languages! While translations are welcome, they are not required to be submitted in accompaniment with your piece. (Should you provide a translation for your work, though, please credit the translator.) An artist statement will also be made optional, both in the submission portal as well as in the final display and zine. Statements can be helpful for review and reader understanding, but are not required if an English understanding isn’t your end goal.
