My spring capstone project was comprised of the planning of a prospective business venture in the hydroponics industry and competition in the Ole Cup. I won the first prize in this competition and will be continuing to work on this venture after graduation.

Gro-W-all Mission Statement

‘We want to cover your walls in lettuce. When we see open wall space, we envision fresh salads for your customers, employees, students, or guests. We see curious onlookers admiring your glowing fount of greens no matter the season. Gro-W-all seeks to bring a space-efficient, automated hydroponic grow unit to market, targeting restaurants, schools, office spaces, and luxury in-home clients. 

Gro-W-all will allow for variable quantities of leafy greens — not nearly limited to lettuces, chards, and herbs — to grow year-round in any location that accesses water and electricity. Furthermore, our system will not require any intensive spatial reorganization; it’s as easy as hanging a painting. Gro-W-all has been designed to be a centerpiece, filling any unoccupied wall with a plethora of fresh greens. With a profile of no more than one foot beyond any chosen wall space, it is a sleek, space-efficient growing solution. Gro-W-all seeks to display fresh food, grown on-site, offering a range of customized, artisan designs.’
