Milkweed isn’t just for monarchs!  People have long used milkweed to meet their own needs, from food, to fiber, to medicine.  Milkweed phenology has been important to understand for humans as well–only certain stages of development are appropriate for different uses. This jigsaw style activity provides 4 readings and a series of questions arranged in a matrix.  Students can each complete one reading individually and then work together to complete the matrix, building a deeper understanding of human interactions with milkweeds as they go.  Instructors: access sample answers here.
