Media played an important role in the fundraising side of Lutheran World Federation Service to Refugees. Different American Lutheran journals or periodicals such as the Lutheran World Action Bulletin helped educate congregations and individuals about what LWF-SR needed and/or was up to. Additionally, local journals and college papers were prominent in people’s access to what was happening on the ground in Germany, Austria, and Italy. One St. Olaf example would be the Manitou Messenger, now known as the Olaf Messenger, which wrote on the decisions of the Hong and Anderson families and Jim Anderson was a part of!
