Retratos y Caligrafia
(cyanotype)
This Art project was one of the most challenging photography projects I’ve ever done. The process needs a lot of patience, and it’s very hands on which I really love but at the same time things can get messed up quickly. To create a cyanotype (green chemical) print you need to paint a surface it can be a sheet of paper or even a shirt!!! Then you have a picture on a negative film which usually comes from analog cameras, but I shoot on a DSLR and then created a negative on Photoshop from there. You put the negative on top of the material with cyanotype and expose it to UV light!! This is the cool and fun part because you can use a UV machine or the actual sun!!! After you’ve expose the materials for like 20 min depending on the sun you have to wash the paper, and it will turn in a beautiful blue. Then I written sked the model a word that represents a GOAL they have and wrote it in Chinese Calligraphy with ink and a brush.
