Mid Century Providence is a instagram based shop aimed at reintroducing mid century modern design to the local community of Providence Rhode Island. The account balances educational content with locally sourced furniture, while staying true to a purpose to foster community. For my senior capstone project, I created a full brand identity for Mid Century Providence.
The design process began with a questionnaire followed by many conversations to best understand the values and goals of the Mid Century Providence brand. The final identity referenced the industrial and engineering roots of mid century design, paired with a modified letter mark logo capturing the bold yet simple characteristics of modernism. Illustrative elements included real images of MCP products, geometric patterns, color gradients, with an accompanying palette.
Being an Instagram based brand, the identity also extended to social media templates and advertisements to expand the brand’s reach in the local providence area.
