Business Leadership: Management in Context

In my study of Business Leadership, I plan to explore many aspects of effectively leading and managing in a business environment. I will seek to understand how different cultures impact people, business, and leadership styles; financial responsibility; American and global cultures; strategic thinking and decision making; and how to effectively lead and manage a group.

• What skills are needed to manage versus lead a business?

• How does the skill set change across industries?

• What are the traits that a business leader needs and how do they vary across cultures?

• How does culture change the way in which people lead and follow?

• How does religion change the way people lead and follow?

• How does gender change the way people lead and follow?

• What role does gender play in business leadership?

• Are women who are leaders perceived differently? If so, in what ways?

• How do American businesses compare and contrast to global businesses

• How does one make a business successful?
