Jyoti Sahi (b. 1944) is an artist-theologian and is one of the founding members of the ACAA. He is a frequent contributor to ACAA’s regular publication- Image magazine, especially during its early issues.

Sahi was born to a Christian British mother and Punjabi Hindu father. He studied art under Sudhir Khastigir and took further studies in London at the Camberwell School of Art and Craft. He uses his art to create a dialogue between Hinduism and Christianism.

Among his concerns is the role of art and culture to the church especially in the Indian context. In 1986, he published his book, “Stepping Stones: Reflections on the Theology of Indian Christian Culture”. He describes this book as “a pilgrimage, a search for homeland… not just in the past but in something beyond”. It includes his reflections acompanied with his artworks.

The painting on the right is part of a series painted as a contribution to the theme “Integrity of Creation” and was exhibited in London, Birmingham , and several towns in Germany in 1993.
