Meet the Advocates

In addition to office hours and our phone line, you can now make appointments with specific advocates! You are also always welcome to reach out to the Co-Chairs at sarn@stolaf.edu.

Piper Mans ’25, Chair

Hello I am Piper (she/her). I am a Environmental Studies and Sociology/Anthropology major. In my free time I love to cook, travel, watch movies, run, and spend time with my friends and family! I have been with SARN for four years, an advocate for three, and a co-chair for two! I have always been passionate about SARN as institutions and our society in general lacks support for survivors of sexual assault. People should have access to support and advocacy when they are in need. That is why SARN exists! We want to be here for you, when many are not. You deserve to be heard.

Ruby Hoeschen ’25, Chair

Hello I am Ruby (she/her)! I am a senior environmental studies major with a public health concentration. In addition to being a Bubbl’r enthusiast, I love to read, make art, spend time outdoors, and spend time with friends and family. I have been a part of SARN for three years, with this being my second year as an advocate and my first year as a co-chair! I am passionate about advocacy and creating brave spaces for students to be heard and supported. I love and appreciate that SARN allows me to be engaged in creating a supportive, compassionate community on the St. Olaf campus. We will always be here for you and we love you!

Ava Shirley ’26, Chair

Hello I am Ava (she/her)! I am a junior Environmental Studies and Quantitative Economics double major with a concentration in Stats & Data Science. In my free time I enjoy running, reading, & painting! This is my 3rd year as a SARN advocate and my first year as co-chair. Serenity Lilly ’26, CSRI Representative

Hi! I’m Ren (she/her) and I’m a junior environmental studies major. I love spending time with my dog and chickens, cooking yummy food, and crocheting cool things. This is my first semester as a SARN advocate and I’m so glad to be joining such a caring, compassionate, and dedicated team. Creating safe spaces for survivors and raising awareness of issues on campus is so so important and I’m happy I get to be a part of that mission this year!

Megan Peery ’25, Advocate

My name is Megan (she/her) and I am from Seattle, WA! My major is social work. I row and play piano. In my free time I love cooking and reading. I’m always here to help.

Muvaki Nhlema ’26, Advocate

Hi! My name is Muvaki (he/him) and I’m a Junior Computer Science and Chinese major from Harare, Zimbabwe. This’ll be my 3rd year as a member of SARN and my fifth semester as an advocate. I believe the work we do is incredibly important, and I cherish the opportunity I’ve gotten as a male BIPOC student to get to be a resource for people who share my identities and whose voices and experiences have been historically underrecognized. In my free time, you will probably find me singing, dancing and/or attending a Bible study. It’s not uncommon to see me doing all 3 at once.

Meakin Bang ’25

Hi! My name is Meakin (she/her). I am a Political Science and Religion major. In my free time I like chilling with my friends and pretending to know what I’m talking about. Sometimes I work in the Wellness Center and sometimes I attend women’s club hockey.

My name is Silvia (she/her)! I’m a senior Social Work and Spanish major with a concentration in Family Studies. I like making money in my free time (I work a lot of on-campus jobs) and hanging out with my buddies. I’ve been in SARN since my freshman year and I have been an advocate since my sophomore year. I love SARN’s mission and am happy to serve our community in this way!

I’m glad to be able to be a part of this organization, and I’m excited to help in any way!
