How can I create impactful space as a woman of color in sports, especially at St. Olaf within academia?

By leveraging my academic work and leadership roles, I aim to amplify underrepresented voices through intentional programming, mentorship, and partnership opportunities. Creating an impactful space also means advocating for inclusive policies and educating peers on systemic barriers within the sports industry.

What legal entities would affect a large external sporting event from taking place on St. Olaf’s campus?

Hosting a large external event would involve navigating contracts, liability waivers, venue agreements, insurance requirements, and NCAA compliance regulations. It would also require coordinating with St. Olaf’s legal counsel and risk management team to align the event with campus policies and state laws.

With NCAA rules and regulations, how can we address and mitigate violations when bringing high-caliber events to the athletics department?

By proactively consulting compliance officers, implementing educational sessions for participants, and conducting pre-event audits of sponsorships, promotions, and recruiting activities. Mitigating risks also means building transparent processes and documentation to ensure alignment with NCAA guidelines before, during, and after the event.
