This is the day we have all been waiting for … and it’s already almost done  🤯  We have loved all the connections that people have been making here on campus and we can’t wait for that to continue throughout the conference! We want to wish all a warm welcome and give some more important information that will be useful to use during your time here on campus.

First, here is the list of the operating hours at our information centers:

Secondly, Fairfield Inn pickups will occur promptly at 8 am. If you are able to ride with other conference goers that can go a long ways to helping everyone get to campus smoothly. Breakfast will be only offered to those staying on campus and will be offered from 7:30-8:30 am in Stav Cafeteria, located on the third floor of Buntrock Commons (opposite of the ballrooms)

We want to highlight how important it is to ALWAYS wear your lanyard. Lanyards will be the way that staff knows which meal plan you have registered for. Without your lanyard you may be refused entry.

In other exciting news we can accommodate more participants in our Spotlight I sessions.

Sessions will occur on Thursday, June 19th from 12.30-1.30 pm and 1.45-2.45 pm. Just show up! (Those who have preregistered are still guaranteed entry) Each session is still limited to 40 participants so its first come first serve for entry.

The Blanket Exercise is an experiential learning tool that leads a group of participants through 500+ years of Indigenous history that highlights Native American relationships with European explorers, colonial settlers, and the U.S. federal and state governments.

The exercise is interactive and requires participants, as they are able, to stand and move throughout the experience. The Blanket Exercise was first created in Canada and has been used to educate general populations there and in the United States and in many other parts of the world. The Exercise does engage participants both intellectually and emotionally and can in some instances affect individuals deeply.

Lastly, we understand campus can be a bit confusing to get around so we want to remind you of some campus insights:

TOH means Tomson Hall

Buntrock Commons may be abbreviated to Bunt

Sun, Black, and or Gold will reference the ballrooms located on the third floor of Buntrock Commons

Viking or Viking Theater is located on the lowest or ground floor of Buntrock Commons

And for those who were not able to make it to the campus tour but would still like to explore campus on their own time, you can access an audio tour that will describe the rich history of St. Olaf College. The link below will take you to the then and now tour.
