With one last week for early bird registration, we are excited to share a few updates about this summer’s Crossings and Connections Conference at St. Olaf College.
We can accommodate up to 300 attendees. With over 100 registrations so far–less than half of which are participants–in the few weeks of early bird registration, we are on track for a strong and diverse turnout!
One of the core components of our planning has been to create an event that will appeal equally to both scholars and the broader public. Whether you’re a seasoned researcher or simply curious about Norwegian migration, you’ll find a dynamic lineup designed to inspire curiosity, spark conversation, and build meaningful connections.
During the vast majority of the conference there will be 3-4 simultaneous sessions to choose from including:
- Plenary sessions providing big-picture context
- Author talks on recent and upcoming titles
- Skill-building workshops
- Roundtable discussions exploring topics from multiple viewpoints
- Thematic panels honing in on niche research areas
We will also showcase a special film screening and talk, keynote addresses and more to be announced!
If you’re a member of one of the host organizations (NORTANA, NAHA, NAHA-NORGE), we recommend that you register now to secure your spot. If you’re not a member or would like to see more details before registering, a full schedule will be available in late April/ early May. Please note that certain events–such as the pre-conference tours and the post conference genealogy class–have limited capacity and may fill quickly.
