Rand Hall on the St. Olaf campus

We know that many of you will soon be making travel plans for our bicentennial conference! With that in mind, we wanted to flesh out some information on conference lodging options.

We’ve arranged two lodging options for conference attendees: budget-friendly on-campus housing and a Northfield hotel.

On-Campus Housing
On-campus housing will be available as part of conference registration— available at the end of February.

Our group will be staying in Rand Hall, nestled into the north side of campus, offering a view of the woods and fields surrounding the college. The dorm is named for Sydney Rand, who served St. Olaf College as president from 1963–80 and as U.S. ambassador to Norway 1980–81. (Fun fact: Rand’s wife, Lois, served as NAHA’s first female president beginning in 2002.)

Rand Hall offers:

  • Single or double occupancy
  • Shared bathroom (with one other room)
  • Linens and towels
  • Air cooling
  • Wifi
  • Microwaves and mini-fridges
  • Limited handicap facilities (please indicate needs when you register)
  • Nearby parking

On Campus Housing Cost:
Entire conference (Wednesday-Sunday) Single Occupancy: $255.00 ($63.75 / night)
Entire conference (Wednesday-Sunday) Double Occupancy (per person): $208.00 ($52 / night)

1 night (between Wednesday-Sunday) Single Occupancy: $82.00
1 night (between Wednesday-Sunday) Double Occupancy: $70.00

On campus housing includes a hearty buffet breakfast in Stav Hall, the student dining hall, linens, and towels. Please note that these rooms are not fully handicapped accessible. Our group will be on the main level, so you will not need to use the stairs. If you have specific questions regarding accessibility, please reach out to us. Campus housing will only be available from Wednesday, June 18–Sunday, June 22. Please note that we don’t have the option of on-campus housing before or after the conference.

Northfield Hotel
For those who would prefer to stay in a hotel, we have rooms reserved at the Northfield Fairfield Inn & Suites near downtown Northfield. Please be aware that the MSP shuttle can drop off and pick up there, but there is no daily transportation to/from the conference from downtown Northfield. Taxi options are very limited in town, so walking (about 1.5 mile/2.5 km to campus) or using your own car will be the best option.

  • Group Reservation/Block: Crossings & Connections
  • Block Start Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2025
  • Block End Date: Tuesday, June 24, 2025
  • Hotel Rate: $219 USD per night
  • Last day to book: Tuesday, May 6, 2025
  • Approximately 1.3 miles (2 km) from campus

You can find additional lodging options in the Northfield area on the city’s website.
