About

Welcome!

My name is Cecelia Schurke and I am graduating this Spring, May 2023, from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in business management and leadership. I am pursuing an individual major here at St. Olaf. This website serves as a place for information regarding my individual major and senior project.

About MY MAJOR

Through my individual major, I plan to discover how to become a successful business leader and manager. In a constantly changing world, I seek to better understand how leadership can be developed to better adapt to the needs of all people within a business. My major follows two threads, one focusing on the technical aspects of business (finance, economics, accounting,) and the other side being focused on understanding how to most effectively work and lead a group of people (IO Psychology, SOAN, management). Through pulling together courses from various areas, I seek to acquire the most valuable leadership and management skills to be the best leader I can be someday.

Description of the Individual Major: Integrated coursework and applied studies in management, sociology/anthropology, finance, and psychology to understand and develop skills and abilities in both management and leadership. Two key principles serving as the basis for my major were the technical component and the humanities component, leading to a holistic understanding of business management and leadership necessary to be a successful manager and leader.
