I made my first instructional video!

This week, I made a video to help my Microbiology students learn how to stain their 96-well plate biofilm assays. They will need to carry out this technique in triplicate with accuracy and precision so I thought it would help if they could watch a video on this technique first, or concurrently. It was a fun project! I checked out equipment from our library and used iMovie to edit the video.

New Paper is Out!

This paper started as a DUR (Directed Undergraduate Research) project in January 2016 and was continued the following semester as a 0.25 credit independent study, then worked on over the summer as a side project by a CURI student, then I had a baby, then it was picked up again as an independent study in Spring 2017, then I finished it up during a one-semester pre-tenure sabbatical in Fall 2017 and finally polished the writing and sent it off during spring break 2018. Got it done!
