Sunday Night:\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Haakon: Sunday was a free day, and so after various activities, many students were out eating dinners. While sitting at an Italian restaurant, I noticed a funny feeling in my stomach. As this feeling began to increase in intensity, I I decided to leave the restaurant to go lie down. After napping for about an hour, I woke up and saw my margherita pizza for a second time, looking much less appetizing than before.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lance: After dinner, I played some cards and then moseyed off to my hotel room to call it a night. The sight I found when I got there was not a pretty one: Haakon hunched over on the bathroom floor. Little did I know that in a few hours, I would face a very similar fate. The remainder of the night was one of the least restful I have had in my life, and it was many hours before I was finally able to get any real sense of sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

Monday:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Kathryn: I woke up Monday morning to Kari\u2019s message saying that all plans for the day were cancelled due to illness in the group. Thankful that I was feeling well, I decided to go with a group of students to the Sverresborg Folkemuseum, which had been the class\u2019 plan for the day anyway. We visited a 1700\u2019s remake of Trondheim, touring original buildings that had been preserved and transported, entering everything from a dentist\u2019s office to the nightman\u2019s house. Our four hour visit ended by looking at a stave church and King Sverre\u2019s castle ruins atop the hill.<\/span><\/p>\n

Karly: After waking up to the notice about the sickness, I was also quite thankful to be healthy, but was very anxious that I was going to be hit by it at any given time. Instead of attending the initially planned museum, I spent my day working on homework for the class, because I was scared to be too far from my hotel room if I was going to get sick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Haakon: Lance and I spent Monday sitting in bed. In three rounds, we received food from our professors. Notably, the watermelon and Powerade were life-saving. At about 2:30pm, we were ready to start our day, and even went for a brief walk outside before returning to our beds. What a day!<\/span><\/p>\n

Tuesday:<\/span><\/h3>\n

On Tuesday, we resumed a somewhat normal schedule with a class session in the morning. Half the students attended in the conference room with the other half on Zoom. In the afternoon, we took a tour on traditional Norwegian boats through the Nidelva River. Despite the sleety snowfall and necessary masking, this was a beautiful way to experience the city!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While these days were not something that we anticipated, we did our best to make the most of our time in Trondheim, and whether that was resting up in bed, visiting the folk museum, or getting some work done, we accomplished that goal!<\/span><\/p>\n
