My monastery has been placed under interdict for following the word of God. The prelates of Mainz demands the once excommunicated nobleman we recently buried in our churchyard be exhumed.1 This man has died in a state of grace, reconciled with the church, and I will not obey, even if it means I am excommunicated myself.2 For 6 months my nuns and I have been deprived of Mass, sacraments, and our liturgical chant, but I won’t let this sway me. I will continue to fight for the will of God.
