I honestly can’t find any reviews of Tailleferre’s Piano Concerto (1924). I can’t find the program from the premiere or any reviews of the premiere.
Finding information on Tailleferre was noticeably more difficult than finding information on the rest of Les Six in the first place. Finding information on this specific piano concerto is a million times more difficult. I have found some newspaper articles outlining programs featuring the piano concerto, but no reviews of the piano concerto itself outside of an American critic saying it was boring.
I found this copy of the manuscript and some general information about the premiere from the Library of Congress. They claim that the “hailed progressive by the critics,” but this isn’t cited and I can’t find any critiques of the premiere whatsoever. I am frustrated!
