The relationship between the Finnish seven piece “seitsikko” and the fifteen piece Finnish military brass band, “normaalivanha,” is very close, coming from the same bandmasters, arrangers, and players at first.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Links/Documents” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Literature Sources About “Seitsikko”

Tampere Workers Society Septet Library Folio 8

Tampere Workers Society Septet Library Folio 10

Tampere Workers Society Septet Library Folio 12

Tampere Workers Band General Catalogue

Tampere Workers Band Score Collection

Turku Workers Band Collection

Turku Workers Band Book III

Mänttä Factory Band Library

List of Active Finnish Brass Septets (2004)

Florida Regimental Band Collection

List of Starting Years

Ameriikan poijat 1991 Library (our first year)

Ameriikan poijat 2007 Master Repertoire List

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Finnish Brass Septet The Ely-Winton Finnish Seitsikko (Minnesota) 1888 Resources for the Study of Finnish Brass Band Septet (torviseitsikko) History and Repertoire The Finnish brass septet is a central factor in Finnish band history, having been the common ensemble in most villages, societies, fire brigades, etc beginning in the 1870s.
