Northfield Historical Society

The NHS has both permanent exhibits-featuring the James-Younger Gang Bank Raid and the first National Bank of Northfield-and temporary ones, such as current exhibits on Malt-O-Meal and Carleton College’s 150th anniversary.

Northfield Convention and Visitors Bureau

 The Visitors Bureau offers two self-guided tours, one following the trail of infamous outlaw Jesse James, and another that visits the historic sites of Northfield. Tour guides are available for larger groups when planned in advance.

Flaten Art Museum

 St. Olaf’s art museum houses student exhibitions, faculty sabbatical works, and curated exhibitions from around the world. The museum is free and open to the public (except during the summer, holidays, and college breaks).

Perlman Teaching Museum

Carleton’s art museum is free and open to the public. Featuring two galleries, museum professionals are always rotating new programs and exhibitions. 

Northfield Arts Guild

This guild hosts over 100 events a year, from theater productions to art galleries. 

Shepherd’s Way Farms

Located a short drive from downtown Northfield, this local dairy farm hosts tours, cheese tastings, and classes on cheese making.
