As part of the Collaborative Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (CURI) program at St. Olaf, students are expected to present their research to their peers and to others within the campus community at several points throughout the summer. But one member of the team (Stella Li) wasn’t satisfied with on-campus presentations. She argued that our project, already public through this website, should be shared as widely as possible, and she proposed an exhibit off campus.

On August 2, 2016, Stella and her fellow researchers opened an exhibit titled “The Musical Geography of 1920s Paris” at the Alliance Française of the Twin Cities in Minneapolis. The opening featured musical performances, opening remarks, and light refreshments. Here’s the exhibit handout. Below you’ll find a video created just before the opening that captures the placement of exhibit materials and that includes interviews with the student researchers. You’ll also see footage from the exhibit opening.
