{"id":1538,"date":"2022-07-02T18:38:22","date_gmt":"2022-07-02T23:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pages.stolaf.edu\/internationalstudents\/?p=1538"},"modified":"2022-08-03T12:43:31","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T17:43:31","slug":"food-options-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pages.stolaf.edu\/internationalstudents\/2022\/07\/02\/food-options-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Options On-Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">St. Olaf campus has three places that are available for you to find meals.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stav Hall: cafeteria-style dining hall which you can eat in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grab a take out box with a <\/span><b>meal swipe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of your Ole Card (campus ID). It is commonly known as the caf, and located on the top floor of Buntrock Commons. Stav Hall has a number of stations: Home (American, home-style food), Tortilla (build-your-own burrito line), Pizza, Pasta, Grill (Hamburgers and Hot Dogs), Bowls (Asian-style stir fry, rice, noodles, etc.), and Grains (vegetarian options). Outside of the stations, there are areas to create your own sandwiches (with panini press) or salads, a desserts area and cereal bar. These stations rotate the choice of meal available every day and you will be able to choose between all of these stations for every meal. The menu is updated everyday and can be seen <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/stolaf.cafebonappetit.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cage: caf\u00e9-style dining, located in Buntrock Commons below the cafeteria. The Cage offers a menu of various burgers, wraps, french-fries and sandwiches, as well as sushi, yogurt, coffee, tea, fruit, ice cream and other options. It is open pretty much all day and you pay with <\/span><b>Flex Dollars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on your ID or by credit\/debit card.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lion\u2019s Pause: is the main late night dining option on campus and is very popular on the weekends. Here you can buy a pizza, quesadillas, milkshakes, and more. The Pause takes <\/span><b>Ole Dollars or cash<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is also a very social place, with a large seating area, billiards table, and several TVs where people watch sporting events or play video games.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">St Olaf requires all students to have a full meal plan. The number of your plan determines how many meals you will be able to eat per week in Stav Hall. Based on which meal plan you have, you will then be allotted a certain amount of Ole Dollars to fill the gaps in your meal plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a021 Meal Plan \u2013 21 meals per week &amp; no flex dollars<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">17 Meal Plan \u2013 17 meals per week &amp; $330 flex dollars per year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">14 Meal Plan \u2013 14 meals per week &amp; $470 flex dollars per year<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can use these Flex Dollars at the Cage, in case you didn\u2019t have time to have a meal at the caf or simply want something different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">**For all meal plans, each week begins on Friday breakfast and ends after Thursday dinner. The number of meals left at the end of the week will expire, and will not add up to the following week. All flex dollars given at the beginning of the semester will expire at the end of the semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your meal plan can also be used at Carleton. You can take the free bus and get off in front of the Carleton library. Depending on where you want to go, you can head over to East Dining Hall or Burton Dining Hall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">College policy permits students living off campus, in an Honor House, student teaching, or doing clinicals through the Nursing Department to apply for the Partial Meal Plan.
