Dana Gross, Ph.D., is professor of psychology at St. Olaf College and the (2021-2024) Paul and Mildred Hardy Distinguished Professor of Science. In teaching, research, and scholarship, Dana is fascinated by the interplay of nature and nurture, cross-cultural variations in beliefs and practices, practical applications of research findings, and policy considerations. Incorporating study abroad and global learning into the psychology curriculum is a major theme in Dana\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

She has led January-term courses for St. Olaf students in India, China, and Norway. With support from St. Olaf College and FaCE grants from the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, she has co-organized faculty workshops, including Making the Most of Immersion: Engaging Faculty to Maximize the Impact of Off-Campus Experiential Learning<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in 2018-19.<\/p>\n

Dana is a contributing author and co-editor of Internationalizing the Undergraduate Psychology Curriculum: Practical Lessons Learned at Home and Abroad<\/em> <\/a>(APA Books, 2016). She is also a co-author and co-editor of Faculty as Global Learners: Off-Campus Study at Liberal Arts Colleges<\/a> <\/em>(Lever Press, 2020). The book’s accompanying podcasting series is available at “Postcard Pedagogy.”\u00a0<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

Dana is author of Infancy: Development from Birth to Age 3<\/em> <\/a>(4\/e, Rowman & Littlefield\/Bloomsbury, 2024) and creator of the book’s ancillary materials (Instructor’s Manual, PowerPoint slides, and Test Bank).<\/p>\n
