In one week, I will be checking email, packing and repacking bags, and making sure that everything is in place for another successful January interim teaching “environmental sustainability in Japan,” which will launch from Minneapolis-St. Paul airport on January 3, 2018. Memories of former students make me smile as I set up this web page in eager anticipation of the learning that will soon begin. Anticipation pulls me out of my Christmas break: the happy sort, knowing I’ll soon see old and newer friends; the nervous sort, wondering if my students this year will embrace what waits for them.
