I've charged them with considering\u00a0how local\u00a0communities meet\u00a0global environmental challenges, to counter\u00a0the popular US image that Asia matters environmentally mostly as a source of problems. We learn\u00a0through field trips, discussion, and symposia with Japanese students, and\u00a0hands-on participation in daily food life at the Asian Rural Institute.<\/p>\n
