These queen two spotted bumble bees (Bombus bimaculatus) just started coming out so look out for them. Can you see the two spots of splotches of yellow on their back? Queens are the only ones to survive the winter and they store sperm from males that they mated with last fall. They are currently laying fertilized eggs that will develop into worker females.
