In today\u2019s episode, we will talk with students from the fine arts departments (including Studio Art and Art History, Music, Theater, and Dance).<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b>Here are the really cool Oles you will hear on this episode:<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Lily (Dance and Economics)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Sydney (Biology and cellist in Ole Orchestra)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Sam (Music Composition; Ole Orchestra, Ole Band)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Lauren (Studio Art and Art History)<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2013 Sylvia (Studio Art and Education)<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b>Here were guiding questions I used (provided by Dr. Epstein):<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What is your current involvement in the fine arts department?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How do you feel your department contributes meaningfully to the world?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">How do you think your department can attend to the world in a better, more intentional, more ethical way? What would need to change? What would have to go away? What new paths would need to be created?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">[for music majors\/non-majors] Music is a micro-community within the greater community of St. Olaf, and one that is sometimes perceived as particularly exclusive and exclusionary.
