Major Description:

The curriculum of the Entrepreneurial and Ethical Leadership is the study of effective entrepreneurial leadership, marketing and communication, in a way that’s ethical through human interaction. This integrated program of study will combine traditional classroom education with real-world learning opportunities, such as internships and volunteer activities. Entrepreneurial leadership skills are required across the business spectrum. Whether you’re the owner of a company or leading a team supporting the firm, you need to run your area of responsibility like it’s your own business. Key leadership skills for these entrepreneurs include strategic vision, self-confidence, calculated risk taking, decisiveness, communication, talent acquisition and management, leading by example, and continual learning. These skills are important and vital in both start-up and established businesses. This major will help me learn about these skills through academic coursework and experiential learning, with the goal of developing and applying this skillset in a career post-graduation.

The coursework for this major focus on three main areas of emphasis – Entrepreneurial Leadership, Marketing and Communication, and Ethics and Human interaction. The intent of this major is to explore the relationship among these three concentrations, apply them to today’s society where communication and ethical leadership are key building blocks to business and life success, and develop the entrepreneurial leadership skills mentioned above.
