Week 1: February 6th & 7th

  • Advisory Meeting – 2:30pm

Week 2: February 10th – 14th

Traveling to Concordia Moorhead February 12th for basketball game – limited access

  • Review and continuation of St. Olaf student demographics compilation
  • Research on successful survey taking and format
    • Submit abstract(s)
  • Add abstracts to Web Portfolio/Web Portfolio work
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 3: February 17th – 21stĀ 

  • Obtain and analyze 2+ articles on successful campus cultures (both scholarly and anecdotal sources)
    • Submit abstracts
  • Add abstracts to Web Portfolio
  • Draft survey format ideas
  • Contact head of tabling to discuss possible times for survey taking
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 4: February 24th – 28th (Tentative Outline)

** Surgery February 25th – Away from campus until the afternoon of March 2nd

  • Obtain 3 + articles regarding positive spacial configurations and specific features that attribute to the space
    • Submit abstracts
  • Add abstracts to Web Portfolio
  • Potentially, personally, assess spaces on campus that I find to have successful features and spaces that lack them
  • No Advisory Meeting

Week 5: March 2nd – 6th

  • Finalize 1st round survey
  • Schedule time to table in Buntrock Commons
  • Optimally, table sessions and collect student-reported data
  • Submit first section of research document
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 6: March 9th – 13th

  • Get permissions to come to classes and distribute survey to at least 2 classes in each department (will not participate if they had taken survey at tabling)
    • Email/meet with department heads for access
  • Distribute surveys
  • Compile data into spread sheets
    • Look for trends
  • Reassess research to find areas where other articles will be helpful based upon survey trends (or lack there of)
    • Submit abstract
  • Add abstract to Web Portfolio
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 7: March 16th – 20th

  • Draft survey ideas – round 2 based upon prior findings
  • Submit next section of research document – survey findings and further research
  • Get tabling times and schedule session
  • Finalize survey for round 2 tabling
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Spring Break: March 21st – March 29th

Week 8: March 30th – April 3rd

  • Round 2 of tabling in Buntrock Commons
  • Round 2 of surveying classrooms
  • Compile survey data
    • Submit documentation
  • Add survey data to Web Portfolio
  • Make edits to research document
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 9: April 6th – 10th

  • Finalize Research document
    • Submit
  • Add research document to Web Portfolio
  • Web Portfolio work
  • Begin Design Boards – ideas and sketching
  • Reserve Viking Theater for presentation
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 10: April 13th – 17th

  • Work on and Finalize Design Boards
    • Submit
  • Add Design Boards to Web Portfolio
  • Prepare and practice for presentation – Viking Theater
    • Make note cards
  • Advisory Meeting – TBA

Week 11: April 20th – 24th

Presentation on April 20th in Viking TheaterĀ 

  • Web Portfolio updating
  • Make edits to research document
    • Submit
  • Begin planning poster
  • Advisory Meeting – Friday

Week 12: April 27th – May 1st

Posters to be presented in Buntrock Commons May 1st – Honors Day

  • Finalize poster for viewing
