Interim Individual Research Paper

Title: Manipulating Topoi in Christian Persecution Narratives

A continuation of my research from the Julio-Claudian Rome seminar, this project expands to evaluate Christian persecution under various Emperors including Nero and Domitian. This project was my first opportunity to study the concept of invented tradition within the history of Christianity, a concept which is a significant factor of my final capstone project.

Archaeological Research Methods paper

Title: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Power Dynamics of Spolia in Early Medieval Christian Buildings

This project was my first time conducting research serious research on spolia, and became an integral building block for my senior project.

Ancient Macedon Research

Title: Dialogues with the Dead: Macedonian Curse Tablets and the Written word

My first venture into non-Roman research allowed me to gain a better understanding of the Ancient Mediterranean. Additionally, my research for this project focused on reading curse tablets as epigraphic sources. This paper therefore features archaeological methods and highlights my interest in the field of epigraphy.
