Problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Congo is my home, and for over 30 years, it has faced ongoing conflict fueled by natural resources, corruption, and the struggle for power. In the midst of this, countless innocent people have suffered \u2014 especially women, who have been the most vulnerable to gender-based violence like rape, often used as a weapon of war. Beyond the physical harm, rape leaves deep emotional scars, stripping women of their dignity, self-worth, and place in society due to the heavy stigma it carries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

while these women need mental health care and many organizations have worked to support them, Congo still faces a major gap in psychological support due to a shortage of professional therapists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Knowing the healing power of storytelling and narrative therapy, I\u2019m creating a storytelling app designed to help women connect, share their experiences, and support one another in their healing journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This app will offer a safe space for women to tell their stories<\/strong>, access information about available resources, and build a community despite physical distance. <\/strong>While it won\u2019t replace professional mental health services, it will be a meaningful step toward addressing Congo\u2019s mental health crisis for women affected by gender-based violence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a country where gender inequality limits women\u2019s access to technology, this app will also serve as a tool for digital empowerment \u2014 giving women the opportunity to confidently use cell phones, stay informed, and take control of their healing process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
