About us

A true commitment to empowerment and Advocacy

Binti Voice Initiative is an advocacy platform that was established in February 2025 to educate people from around the world about the impact of war on young women in Congo and empower them for positive change, focusing on survivor leadership. Following a successful fundraising of medical funds supporting survivors of gender-based violence in May 2025, Binti Voice Initiative expanded its capacity to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit to scale up its impact on the local and international level.

Sarah is the founder and main advocate at Binti Voice Initiative. She is a Congolese citizen pursuing her Masters degree at Oxford University. She is very passionate about education and has the dream of advocating for young women’s access to education and fight against child marriage at an international level. Sarah’s compassionate heart and passion for storytelling has led her to create this platform.

Our 4 C Core Values

Centered on women

We focus on young women’s abilities, resilience and their potential to make a positive impact rather than their weakness while placing their voices, needs and lived experiences at the heart of every action and decision we make.

Character

Our character is centered on trust and transparency. We value and honor women stories and experiences, do not share or discuss their personal informations with third parties without their written approval and responsibly use all funds received through donations and grants.

Community-based

Our organisation is run by local members who are considered experts of their community. Through offering services such as healthcare support and education, we foster civic engagement, create jobs and work with other organizations to create positive, sustainable change within our community.

Christ-centered

We are a kingdom building organisation and believe that God is the leader and we are only his managers, stewards of his resources. We make spirit-led decision and beyond supporting women, we strive to help them find their identity in God who made them and love them. We are inspired by Isaiah 43:1

Empowering women to raise their voices against sexual violence is a powerful way to combat child marriage in Congo. Sexual violence is one of the root causes of child marriage, leading to stigma, deepening poverty, and forcing parents to marry off their daughters at a young age to protect them from rape. This website stands as an important step toward breaking that cycle and supporting girls in the long run in the fight against child marriage thus the connection between the combat against sexual violence and child marriage.
