Nightmares are better than feeling eternal flight while awake. I try to escape hands that have grabbed at me since 5th grade calling me mature for my age. I tried to convince those in power that these events happened but they never listened, I feel all alone. All these eyes trying to eat me alive, they don’t see me as a human, I’m just a nice pair of tits, a pussy, a thing to have sex with. I just want to be invisible. Can you have me? No. Am I ok? No. No.  Nonono.

Process of No

The Sumi-e ink painting that I chose to use is also deeply linked to family tradition on the Japanese side. I learned that most of my American classmates dislike this method of painting. I find that it brings me comfort due to the inability to be perfect except through extreme skill building. It frees me from perfectionism and lets me focus on the emotion I am trying to evoke with the pieces.
