This includes the fact that Antiochia was one of the few cities permitted to mint coins, so I’m wondering if we will be finding an exceptional amount of coins there or any evidence of these minting facilities. I’m also hoping to see some of the finer details on pottery or other artifacts like the eagle symbolism discussed in the articles or hints towards Antiochia’s brief time under the rule of a king.

I hope to learn more about the daily lives of the citizens of Antiochia, rather than simply the broader history of the location itself. I hope to see the ruins of some buildings like houses or religious spaces that were used every day. I think that in doing this, I will get a richer understanding of what life in the area was like and hopefully be able to find more meaning in the artifacts that I uncover.

I think that in a way, the entire world is my audience. I hope that my archaeological discoveries are accessible to all and are used to improve our understanding of a significant historical site. I hope that I am able to do a clear job cataloging my artifacts so that my notes and drawings will be used by archaeologists in future years, allowing them to pick up where I left off. As I work, I will bear in mind the lessons I learned in the readings about tourism and ethics and make sure that I am working for the proper reasons and interacting with the artifacts in a respectful and productive way.

What I am most interested in is studying the specific artifacts which are unique to the Antiochia area, or may not be as prevalent in other parts of the Roman Empire.
