Prodigal Son

This is a drawing by Paul Judson, a present-day artist. 2013.

This image shows the aftermath. After the son has gone off and wasted all of his money and began to work with the pigs. He is Jewish and it is against Jewish customs at this time to come in any contact with a pig, so him working with pigs shows how unfortunate of a situation he has put himself in. Therefore the image reflects this by showing him in tears crying with the pigs in the background. This is relatable to a current reader as well. It can be used as an example to show what can happen when we are given something and become greedy not managing our gifts well. He went from fortunate to starving with the pigs real quick. However it also shows God’s grace through the example of his father. No matter how far you may stray off if you come back humbly to God the father he will accept you and help you.
