It’s not surprising that Madeon reached the top of College Radio charts with his latest release, “Madeon EP.”  Many know Hugo Leclercq, aka Madeon, from his hit viral video “Pop Culture,” which received millions of views just days after it was posted (July 11th 2011).  He quickly rose to fame in the electronic world with his popular remixes of artists such as The Killers, Deadmau5, Pendulum, and Martin Solveig.

“Madeon EP” brings the best of both Electrohouse and Pop together.  The EP includes the hit single “Finale,” which features vocals by Nicholas Petricca. Madeon’s ability to combine pure dance tracks with catchy pop hooks is clearly reminiscent of French House duo Daft Punk, who he states are his “mentors and teachers.”

This single was heavily anticipated last summer as Madeon performed and promoted his upcoming release at music festivals across the United States, such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival in New York.  The EP also includes a Dub mix of “Finale” and a remix by popular Electro/Moombahton producer Dillon Francis–useful for those who may wish to mix the track while DJ-ing.

The EP also includes “The City” with Zak Waters providing vocals.  Madeon’s album of the same name was released on October 8th, 2012 digitally.  Both an original and extended mix of the song are included on this EP.  Madeon has taken the electronic dance community by storm in the past year, and this EP proves he is here to stay.
